I’ve owned a DR-05 for quite a few years. I hadn’t used it for a while, but I do remember how. I’ve encountered a problem now that I don’t understand, however.
I’m using it to record from LPs to build my Plex server collection. Previously, I used it to record from LPs to create CDs, so, in either case, I moved the recordings from the recorder to my desk-top computer.
Problem: I can lower the input, and, according to the recording level meters at the bottom of the display, the input is in-effect, turned off. However, when recording, the level meters in the center of the display show maximum input, and the Peak indicator flashes almost constantly. Playback also has lots of distortion, which means the levels really are too high.
I can’t figure out what to do next. Any one able to help? Would a factory reset do the trick? If so, how do I do it?
