How to install US-2x2 on Linux

I understand this device should work fine with most modern distro's, (I'm using Debian Jessie), but I can't find any howtos, downloads or anything.

How would I go about installing drivers / getting started?

Here's a thread that does indeed suggest it should work out-of-the-box on Debian Jessie:

This gave me hope it would run on my Ubuntu Trusty 14.04 platform, but so far, no: it shows up as a USB device, but ALSA doesn't list it as another sound card. Did you eventually get it working?
