Looking to upgrade to DM4800

Hi,

I'm currently running a system with two MOTU 24 i/o units running through a Tascam M3500. I'm tired of analog, so I was thinking of selling that off and upgrading to the DM4800. I was planning on selling the M3500 and one MOTU unit, and keeping one 24 i/o for outboard routing. My question is... Since the PCIe 424 card has four FireWire inputs, could I use one of those to run from the 4800 FW card, or is the 424 card specific to MOTU products only?

NOPE, just for MOTU products.

DM4800/IFWDMKII card into ((COMPUTER--firewire port)) that's it. Tascam's firwire card eliminated the need for a SOUND CARD/MOTU PCI424, so that you could go past the 24 allowed on the MOTU, and utilize 24, 32, or more.
