Just unboxed DP 24SD. Followed the quick start guide. Connected electric guitar to H, selected guitar and tried to record on Track #1. On the Home screen there were no levels being shown, nothing from headphones, so I assume, no signal. Tried several cords and assured guitar volume was fine. Went through whole procedure 6 times, nothing. What stupid easy thing did I miss? Thanks.

At the risk of sounding flippant, you missed watching the free and excellent tutorial videos by Phil Tipping that are available in the sticky post of this forum.

I haven't, good advice. I verified the H input works with a mic. To be honest I just used the quick start guide in the manual. Hitting them now. Thanks very much.
For some crazy reason it all works now. I'd assigned the H input to channel 1 with no results, but started over and seems fine. Now I have to backtrack to see where I missed. Again thanks.
