Pre-mastering to mastering on 2488mk2

Hi . I have a problem trying to master after pre-mastering . I get an error message saying master track is too short use pre-mastering to fix it. The tracks are plenty long. I don't have the manual . Does the pre-mastering light always blink when that process is going ? The unit has been barely used and is in great shape. I just want to be able to master so I can burn a cd of a live set. Any help would be greatly appreciated !

You most likely need to set your in and out times. This should work in multi-track, or mix mode. rewind to the beginning of your song, then mark the "IN" (normally it will be at 0:00.00). Next, either play through, or fast forward to the end of the song and mark the "OUT".
When you master, it will automatically stop at the "OUT" time for you.
