Hello All, Is anyone else experiencing this noticeable volume loss ?
When I finish mixing and mastering, my work sounds awesome on the DP-24SD itself.
As soon as I transfer the files to my computer, volume loss.
Meaning, if I compare my work to other music files on my computer ( lets say something I downloaded from Amazon music). I play the Amazon or any other music file I may have on my computer with the volume at 50.
Sounds great. Then I leave the volume at 50 and then play my dp-24sd recording and it is way quiet. I will have to crank the volume to 100 to match the volume of other store bought music files.
What is going on ? Why can't I get store bought CD quality recordings.
Same problem if I burn a disc. Way quieter than store bought CD's.
And yes I did normalize. This happens if I normalize or not.
Can anyone shed some light on what I can do to fix this ?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Forum.

Look in the Production Tips stickey for the post on mastering. You'll find the answer is there.

I found that the only way I could get close to a respectable volume was to record with MIC GAIN at 3/4 , track volume at 10 and out put at 10 ...no distortion and volume levels were close to most other professionally produced music , but it just seems odd that it needs to be that way

Multiplemyselfs, what in the world are you talking about:?:

The DP-24/32/SD doesn't have any of the features you've described.
