US144 Mk1
Hi there.
I'll try to help a friend of mine who encounter problems with a US144 Mk1 after upgrading to a new laptop.
Device is used with Cubase Elements 8. OS is Win7 Pro.

After getting a new laptop (dell sth) my friend updated firmware and drivers. He made the error not to unplug the device before installing drivers. I removed the drivers and reinstalled them according to the docs. That worked but device plays only crackling noise, both in Cubase or with Win Media Player.

Device runs on latest firmware (1.12).

I tried with different drivers (2.02, 2.01, 2.00) but all fail.

On the old laptop, also win 7 with cubase elements, the device ran fine

Does anybody has an idea how to fix that?

Thanks in advance,
Christian

After further research I found the following on gearslutz:

Problem was caused by intel USB 3.0 drivers. After removing those and using the default windows drivers instead the tascam interface runs just fine. Rather obvious solution I guess, but I didnt remember I had those drivers installed.

Will check that out and post results.
