2488 Neo S/PIDF Digital I/O question

How does the 2488 Neo S/PIDF Digital I/O work?
Do any of you use it?
Do I need a special sound card for connecting it or do I just plug a cable from the digital in/out of the Neo into the colored inputs in the back of my computer?

You need to connect to another S/PDIF in/out for it to work.

I use this method to run off a quick mix to the PC. I record straight into Audacity to create a stereo wav which I can then covert to mp3 without having to Mixdown or Master on the Neo. Very handy and time saving.
