2488neo usb connection problem

I'm trying to get my 2488neo connected to a laptop to download the wav files, and it is causing a usb error on the laptop. Is there a step I'm missing? Shouldn't it appear as a generic usb storage device?

Check in your manual if you haven't already. You have to put your 2488neo files in a certain location before using USB. I don't remember the name, but you can't just export files/tracks without doing this step. You also have to initiate the USB function on the neo, which is also in the manual under exporting/importing files.
