PortaCapture X6
Hey everyone, just joined the forum :)

I am an audio gear noob (willing to learn more) and I have a problem. Someone recently bought me a brand new Tascam PortaCapture X6 as a gift. I really like the recorder but I have some problems with it. While I managed to get it to work properly for my videography stuff (as a field recorder with micro-SD cards), I am having a hard time making it work as a USB mic with its built in mics, or more precisely...it won't record at all to my PC.

I updated it to the latest firmware, downloaded the latest ASIO driver for my Windows 11 machine and bought a data USB cable. Still nothing.

I am trying to figure out where I am making a mistake? Or is it that the USB ports on my PC are old and don't provide enough power. Whenever I connect it to my PC i get to choose if "the AC adapter is less or more than 1.5A". The strange thing is, everything works from firmware updating to all the menus. I can even plug in my headphones and they work with my X6 while it's connected to my PC via USB.

Someone suggested me on Reddit that I should try to fix it by changing track inputs to "1-2" instead of picking the USB option. While the USB option doesn't work at all, I can see it "picks up" my voice nicely in the other input tracks, but it still no sound "goes" to my PC, whether I am recording in DaVinci Resolve, OBS or Sound Recorder app on Windows 11. The levels show my voice (and other sounds in my room) being picked up, but recordings on my PC are with no audio at all.

I tried recording my voice in the "Voice" as well as in the "Manual" app of the X6.

Can someone please help me, I've been trying to fix this for weeks if not longer. Keep in mind, I am a newbie and am not sure if I will understand all the instructions at first.

Thanks everyone!
