Hi guys, I've been encountering a very noticable and disturbing buzz that comes when I hit my rack toms, it's very random, sometimes it happens, and sometimes it doesn't. When I first bought the AI it never did that, which was like 3-4 months ago. And now randomly it starts giving me buzz on the toms. The readings on the meters look perfect.
I looked into it to try and figure out which mic(s) are causing the buzz because I'm recording using CAD 7 Pro(7 drum mic kit), and it seemed that only one of the tomtom mic's is actually buzzing. Even when I hit something else and it catches it(like the tom next to it), it also buzzes. Could this mean that my mic is broken?
I'm recording on a simple i7(forgot which model but a good one) laptop, 6GB of RAM, and realtek audio which is another thing that may be the cause of the problem. Could it be the laptop?
Also forgot to mention, I use Reaper to record!
Please keep in mind I'm absolutely no expert when it comes to drums or recording...I'm only just learning
Thanks!
