Can I use TASCAM model 12 as an USB audio interface while LIVE mode?

Hi, I have a question!

I have Ableton Live, but I don't want to use the TASCAM as a DAW Controller, just as an audio interface. If I understand correctly, I can use all channels of the TASCAM for recording in ableton while the TASCAM is in LIVE mode, then switch to PC mode if I want to listen to the DAW mix (in which case channel 1 and 2 will be the stereo outputs of the ableton master). Is this correct? Also, do I only have to switch channel 1 and 2 to pc mode?

The newest firmware allows you to use it as an interface with channels 9/10 which means everything can be in live mode except 9/10 which you will keep in pc mode for listening to the DAW mix
