Compatible power supply for 414 MK ii?

Hi all -

New to the site and happy to be here! I just bought a replacement Portastudio 414 MKii but it didn’t come with a power supply. I have a Tascam power supply (model PS-P424) that came with a Tascam 424. (AC120v 60hz 26w; DC12v 1100ma). Seems like this one has more power (wattage) and I understand it’s ok to have more than less?

I’m seeing now that the 414 specifically states to use PS-P414.

Can anyone tell if this would cause any problem or damage to the unit?

If your present unit has a center negative DC plug in then you can use it if it has a positive center then you will damage the unit and it will not run and cost you a repair. If it does not say on the unit itself then see if you can find a picture of the correct one and see if it is center negative. If you plug it in and try it that is all it will take to wreck the unit. It MUST be the same polarity.
