Connecting a patchbay & effects processor

Hello guys, go easy on me I’m completely new to the mixing and recording world… My question is, would adding a Patchbay be beneficial somehow to the model, 24 if so, what are their connections to and from? Also, where would I plug in an electron analog heat to the model 24? Appreciate any help thank you.
