Console Channel Marking Methods

@Peter Batah Well, I don't really have many templates I can reuse, so I simply get a new tape on for each project.. For instance, I have recorded my drummer friend several times in the last half year, but every time he brings another setup, so I may have Kick, Snare top, Snare bottom and Hihat the same, but then everything changes again.. 2 toms + floor tom, 3 or 4 toms with floor tom or 3 toms and 2 floor toms. I think he is testing me, actually ;)

I do use white Brother label maker adhesive tape on my mixer though, but that's below the input stage. It shows my Mic and Line standard inputs - which don't change, or only temporary due to patching. The Mic inputs are hard wired to locations around my recording room and vocal booth so they really don't change.

@Arjan P I was afraid that you were going to say that :D Some of the permanent markers that I have used for certain applications don't ever come off. I suppose that they come in different varieties. I got too close to my tape measure a few months ago. That mark is still there.
I have a new one to add: Recently (been getting into filmmaking) I got a new clapperboard (slate). I wrote on it with dry erase markers. After that, I spent the next hour using alcohol to rub out the marker from the plastic. So, now that we're past the first quarter of the 21st century I'm back to using a grease pencil to slate clips.
