DA-78HR tape issue

Hello!

I recently got a DA-78 with low hours (300?) and it seems like it’s perfect except for one thing.
Tape starts to ride up and get wrinkled especially when the higher speed winding stops or starts.

the spring on the tension arm doesn’t seem anchored to anything. Just floating How should this be correctly positioned?
(Not letting me upload photos because I’m new? I’ll try again…)

If you are talking about the back tension spring, one end- the long end- is attached to the back tension arm with a black plastic slitted washer to hold it on, and the other end is hooked on the bracket in the center that is held down by two screws- bracket slides when you loosen the two small screws, and is used to set back tension arm position during initial back tension calibration. I still work on these, have parts, and test equipment to repair and calibrate. PM me if interested.
