    I came across this article and video while surfing the Berkley School of Music online site.
    Thought y'all might find it interesting to watch (you can skip the text and just scroll down for the video if you want to)

    Seeing that Otari deck brought back some fond memories.:)

    Vintage King Audio has the price of an ATR MAGNETICS MDS-36 1/4" x 3600' tape on a 10.5" NAB hub in a cardboard box as $62US new. Wow.

    I guess with inflation that's not so bad, with the NAB hub. But you need your own flanges.

    :D lol!

    My band and I used to master to hifi vhs decks before we got a DAT, and yep printing an analog 2-track version for the tape compression and “modulation” is great on some decks but I would bet, not a UMatic.
