So I've been using the DM3200 fine for years now with the RCA DIN digital input into the Digital Channel 1 of the DM3200. Just got a new Sony recorder with digital I/O so I thought to plug it into the DM Digital Channel 2. Should work fine right? Well the digital setup only show Channel Two as XLR (AES I suppose) It should read the RCA DIN and adjust to that, but no. Docs say this is an auto setting. So can this be set manually? or am I experiencing a busted Digital Channel 2: Channel 1 works fine w/ the Sony so I know that part works

Thanks in advance...

So not a lot of folks doing this. I suppose, let me ask this another way. In the digital setup, there are 2 channels, channel one and channel 2.
The inputs show channel one as been RCA, and is and has worked fine for years. Now, i want to use channel 2 as a digital input also. It only shows the input type as XLR, even though the input is RCA. So why isn't it changing?

Check the routing menu, input screen, the choice between DIN (digital inputs) aes (xlr) and spdif (rca) is at the bottom right of screen. Now for SPDIF and RCA, use professional 75 ohms cables and connectors like CANARE (expensive but it works). AES XLR cable must be 110 ohms.

Sorry, but that is not an answer to my question. Thanks for the info, but what you are referring to is how to select a Digital input and map it to a channel AFTER the Digital input is feeding into the DM. What I am asking is, when you go to ALT+DIGITAL screen, the FORMAT tab shows DIGITAL IN1 & DIGITAL IN2. Next to this is the format. For example" RCA 24bit" or "XLR", for example. How can I change the DIGITAL IN2 from "XLR" to "RCA"? On my DM, it does not automatically register. So I'm trying to understand if others have this issue, or is this normal, or if it is supposed to be recognized automatically, maybe mine is broken?

If I understand you correctly, then follow the instructions as we both stated and then the input will be changed in the page you indicated.

To my knowledge, the page you indicated does not automatically change depending cable or data input. This must be selected on the page tab we stated. AFAIK
