tascam dm4800 ..CD-RWHD1000
hi to all .. we have the dm 4800 Set up for INPUT from the RADAR via the optional an/dm cards ..
input set up is, slot cards 1-2-3 = Input channels 1-24 on the first layer
( Slot Card 1=Chan 1 so forth so on thru chan 24 )..
all input signal from RADAR appears @ designated channels..with eq - pan -dynamics etc. function as they should..
PROBLEM..we have no channel insert function @ the INPUT stage..

conversely the insert's are fully functional @ the SEND to Recorder set up ..( layer 2 =25-48 with analog slot cards 1-2-3 and configured as BUSS 1-Direct25 thru buss 24-direct 48...
knowing that the channel inserts are only active with mic/line mode what have we overlooked in our Input configuration with the optional analog slot cards

thanks to all for your time

I may be misreading your post.... are you inputting RADAR into the line inputs on channels 1-24 or into AN/DM cards? You need to do the former to access the analog insert ports.

Are you physically connecting devices to the channel 1-24 insert ports using balanced cables?

hi & thanks for your reply..
dm to & from RADAR via 3 analog cards ... the radar's 24 Out's are is also connected to the dm LINE IN's 1-24 1/4" jacks ..
to clarify..the current set up for INPUT to DM from RADAR is via the Slot Cards..& the configuration is as follow's
InPut's on layer 1 = channels 1-24 ..
slot card 1 = slot 1- input 1..
slot 2= .input 2 etc

do we need to SELECT a different source for the inputs other than from the AN/DM cards to have access to the channel Insert's ..
as mentioned before..all other channel functions are operational..

thanks

No probs - happy to help.

Yes - you need to set the inputs in your router as M/L1-24 to access the insert ports.

cheers
