Hi there. This probably is quite a stupid question, but I really don't have any experience with neither ADAT nor TDIF.
I've been using an IF/FW MKII for a while now. It works fine on the studio pc.
The thing is, i'd like to connect my Surface Book or generally be able to use any Laptop to record stuff. No chance of FireWire there. I googled and found that there is the RME Digiface USB, which offers 4x ADAT I/O.
My understanding: I've got an ADAT expansion card in the DM4800, which - in combination with the built-in port - would allow me to send 16 channels to the Digiface. I also have an IF-TAD lying around, that would be 8 more channels... But then theres stuff like word-sync and I don't have any clue and therefore finally the question: Can I use ADAT and TDIF simultaneously to send to the Digiface or are there problems with that?
