I've been syncing midi gear to my M12. I love that it has a click, and midi out, and wanted to confirm how I could best get my gear synced up to tracks, and account for any latency in my set up.
One idea was that if my midi gear had some latency, I could create my own click track with that same latency to use when recording.
So I made a click track in Logic at a set bpm and then imported that track to the M12 to see how it played back, and how it compared to the click the M12 generates. I recorded the output of the M12 back into logic and the file played back slightly faster. When re-cut and aligned to the beat, the file was played back at a slightly faster rate. I would think the exact file imported into the M12 would playback exactly the same, but it's got some drift to it.
What would cause this?
