I'm trying to record audio from a Roland TD-25kv directly from the modules outputs to the DP.
I've tried using a single cable out from the phones jack to a single track, and two cables for left/right into inputs A/B and recorded simultaneously.
The problem is that the recording volume and the clip volume is very low. I've messed with the output volume from the drums, the trim levels for the inputs, the line volume presets for the inputs, yet even with the track playback volume hard up, they are way lower than say a guitar played directly though a pedal into the recorder.
The drums clip out at such a low volume, turning the trim up to a volume I can use clips and sounds terrible. Keeping the trims at a safe level means bringing the entire song down to keep the drum track(s) audible.
How can I boost the volume of the monitoring and the recording without clipping?
