DP-03SD, how to change one input to different set of tracks ?

Help! Phantom-powered mic in input1 is routed by default to tracks 1,3,5,7, and supposedly you can also route this input to tracks 2,4,6,8, just by pushing a mysterious "track" or "rec" button which I can't seem to find, and pushing the record buttons doesn't seem to do it. What am I missing? Other than this, I love the machine so far because of it's great recording quality and some nice old-school controls and vibe. thanks!

Press the "Assign" button to open the assign screen on the LCD. You choose the Input from there and press the track Rec button (same one to arm track). Page 34 of the manual is slightly hepful in this regard.

FWIIW since you can only record two tracks you probably can get by with the defaults.

Many thanks sir, what was also confusing was the manual's use of the term "track" button
and when they mentioned "rec" button, they didn't specify as to which one!
