DP-24
Hello, I have searched thoroughly in this forum and it seems I have a unique issue. Attempting to update DP-24 firmware from 1.12 to 1.21 (after error I also tried 1.19). Success copying file via USB to UTILTY folder, power down/up per instructions, the unit starts displays PROGRAM UPDATE screen. When I select the file (DP-24_087.121), I get ERROR window with message "update file"

Appreciate any assistance. Thank You,
Steve

Please make sure that you're using the correct firmware update file. There is the DP-24, and there is also the DP-24SD. They are incompatible.

Thanks mjk, I am definitely using the correct file for my model: DP-24 firmware: 1.21

Any other recommendations?

hi Steve. Good man! It's easy to get confused (please don't ask me how I know, lol).

When powering up you are seeing the PROGRAM UPDATE dialog, so the machine is recognizing the update file. That would seem to rule out file corruption.

So, you may want to try installing a previous version of the FW and see if that will properly install. If that goes well, proceed with the latest version.

If you still come up with errors, I would try a different SD card for the update.

Welcome to the forum Steve. Did you use a Mac to unzip and copy the file to the sd-card? Macs have a nasty habit of creating extra '.' files so you may end up with 2 similar files, one called DP-24_087.121 and the other .DP-24_087.121 (or ._DP-24_087.121)
The dot file will only be a few KB whereas the correct non-dot file is 1.8MB

Another thing to watch is removing or unmounting the card correctly from the computer (or closing down the USB link if you're using that method). You must cleanly unmount before disconnecting otherwise the file won't be fully written. When you see the Program Update screen, it just means you are in update mode, it hasn't verified any files yet so just lists whatever is on the card.

If this isn't the case, then as MJ said.

Phil and MJ: Thank you both. I had already tried previous version (1.19). I also cleanly disconnected USB. But after reading this I tried again using the SD card (via Mac), and it worked! The USB version (via Windows) must have corrupted the file.

I am now up to date! Thank you for your help and your time.

Cheers,
Steve
