Hey all I was playing around with the copy paste function to create repeated sections but sometimes it seems to not copy out correctly.

What I mean is the in and out section sounds normal but when I copy and paste repeats it doesn't always sound like the entire in out section!

It sounds like maybe it is copying a different " in out " section than I entered in! It's like as if I chose a different section of time, similar area but it's not "looping in time"... User error? Or am I missing something?

Using bars beats in at beat 1 of the start and beat 1 of the end. I can't nail down why sometimes it doesn't line up.

Example - Track 1 I want to loop bar 2 to the end of bar 3.

For example I have a track say track 1 bar 2 beat 1 is "IN", bar 4 beat 1 "OUT". Then I move the cursor to bar 1 beat 1. Then I use the copy & paste function, paste to track 2 for example a few repeats. After the operation completes, it sometimes does not line up with the "in out" selection, as if I chose a different beat from a different bar... Strange. I could do a unlisted video to show if you want me to try to capture it.

I've read the stickies etc and understand the process (I think!). Of course I'm on latest firmware etc. Ive got a sequencer synth type tutorial YouTube channel and want to feature dp24 eventually specifically copying and pasting etc. Thanks!

Ok thanks I did read that carefully and followed it as carefully as possible, before I wrote the original post.

So in an example say Bar 2 to end of bar 4.

It sounds like I should be doing the end of bar ex. Bar 2 Beat 1 [IN] to Bar 4 beat 4 [OUT]?
Is that what I have been doing wrong?

Normally been marking it for example Bar 5 Beat 1 (instead of Bar 4 beat 4)

I will try again when I get home from work. I appreciate your reply

I had to go back and check the sticky post. The paste point has to match exactly the out point of the section being copied.

Seriously thank you for that nuance I must have passed over that we have to paste exactly at the out point!

I am surprised that the paste point has to match the out point, BUT knowing that is probably the key to solve my issue! I missed that part, so now it should work, and now if it fixes my issue, I will definitely heavily emphasize on my tutorial video this point since it is MOST important!!!!

If you can modify that sticky to maybe put a bit more for others if they run into this - "If the paste point is NOT set to the out point, there will be issues"?

I am wondering why it would let me paste at any other point I set the cursor to , and why it would not work in time.

I will post on this thread again if I continue to have any issues, (or success)!!!
