for field recording bird sounds and transform these into spectogram.
I know it is used often for this purpose.
I inserted a 64 gb SD card . It seemed to format but the recorder does not take it.
I would like to know what card is recommended. 64 Gb or more as i make long recordings.
I'm not a user/owner, but the TASCAM web site has a list of current SD cards tested and certified for use with your recorder. The necessary information should be in your reference manual's "Introduction/SD Cards" section (or similar).
A search of this forum for related threads/posts about "SD cards"; "field recording"; "bird"; "wildlife"; "DR-05XP"; etc. may turn up threads and posts by like minded members with whom you can exchange experiences.
