Dr 40 low level sound

hi i have a dr 40 that i have been using for basic open air recording with nothing connected. recording levels were fine. now the levels are significantly lower. im thinking it maybe because i accidentally selected an extension in option but not sure. either way, is there a way of resetting to default so that i can revert please? thanks in advance

To put the unit back to factory settings, go into the System menu and select Initialize. That puts it back to how it came out of the box. I think it will stay at what ever firmware level you last applied to the unit.

if you selected external mics you wouldn't hear anything from the built in mics. More likely you hit either an auto level setting or turned down the volume or a pad to lower the input gain. Check all these first. Options will be in the main menu and also hit the record settings button.
