DR-70D won’t allow firmware update

“Error sum” code appears each time I try to update firmware. Any suggestions? Thank you.

At the risk of being too obvious, have you downloaded a second copy of the update and tried it?

I appreciate the question. It like someone asking you if you rebooted your computer: obvious, but a great percentage of the time it works and I am guilty of not doing the obvious....a lot! As it turned out, it was a motherboard ($150 + $100 to diagnose/install it). For $270, B&H sells them new which includes free shipping. There are others selling them that cheap as well, so I’m pretty certain I’m going to go the “new” route for an additional $20. Thanks for getting back to me.
