Everytime I power up the DM4800 and my PC, the DM display shows Card: OK, 1394: Driver offline. When I restart the computer I get 1394: Locked. This is the only way I can start a session: power up, restart the PC. I'm on Windows 10. Using the 1394 legacy driver or the 'normal' driver makes no difference.
Any idea what may be the cause (or solution)?

Whenever I run into an issue like this (Happens mainly with the DM4800 USB driver here) I go into Device Manager and disable and then re-enable the device to get it working again. Sometimes reinstalling the device driver is the solution (You don't have to uninstall it first, just do a reinstall/update)
Respecting the Firewire device specifically, it is a rare occurrence on my systems, but more often than not a reinstall of the device driver does the trick.
Why these things happen is anyone's guess. I suspect that sometimes a boot just fails to catch something, obviously, and then perhaps a driver just gets corrupted over time.
