Error when powering on DM-4800

Hello all. I am posting on behalf of a fellow DM owner who claims to be having difficulty registering a new account on this forum. So, I decided that I might be of assistance to him.

My Tascam Mixer DM 4800 has stopped working, when I turn it on an error comes out that says: "The audio device is not operating normally.All sound stopped. Press enter to continue."
doing self-diagnosis Audio device test DDMP 1/2/3/4 error Sax test resul ok.
therefore I need a replacement of the card: TEAC E901884-00A PCB.DDMP-4 DM.

I want to know if you can help me and know the cost of this card.

Note: The gentleman would also like to know if said card might be repaired.

The card isnt made anymore, as far as I know. There are companies that do TASCAM repair, but I dont know if they can obtain one. Occasionally they may appear on ebay, however.

You may also just need to check the connections and reseat them. Or there may be a problem that requires a replacement of a component.

Check the DM-4800 service manual:
- p. 15 for the diagnostic test u can run to get more info about the DDMP fault.
- p. 71-72 for an image of both sides of the pcb
- p. 88 for component list of the pcb

Good luck! You may find a replacement dm-4800 mixer is comparable to the total cost of repairing, obtaining, and/or installing a new board.
