Exiting times ahead. Why? Well, many new things lie just beond the horizon. We have received allot of signals about all kinds of new developments in 2013. So we think new products will be just around the corner in 2014.

What Am I talking about? Well, Tascam and Teac have been bought by the Gibson Group. And currently they are in the process of aqcuiring Cakewalk Software.

Gibson bought a digitale snake technology a few years ago. And Tascam has worked closely with Sony before. So they may know AES-50.

With these companies in place I suspect we will see a group of tools aimed at the homestudio musicians. Now with 2013 closing fast. And most of us noticing more gray hairs, new products may be right around the corner to make our life a little bit easier.

Roland has a feature on their latest hardware, called autogain. This feature, together with the wireless tablet technology allmost wipes out any F.O.H. man. Why? Well, the brain gets connected to all microphones it mutes a minute while autogain establishes audiolevel during the first chords and voila... Everybody has decent levels on their monitors and at F.O.H. .And with our tablet we can easily trim our monitor to our taste.

And with current fast USB sticks tracking 16 channels on a usb harddrive or stick is a simple proces. Our studio is getting more portable by the year. But... All those controlls in current DAW's may completely be chinese to any new musician. So is life getting any easier.... Or is the Mac Donalds consumer musician right around the corner...

Merry Christmas and a happy New year.

From all of us to all of you!!

Just wait for the robots to take over, Muziekschuur.
