External Microphone

Hi...just joined this forum...anyway, I resently purchased a DP-004 and wanted to do an external microphone so I bought a Tascam TM-AT1 stereo microphone...what I do not understand is the A or B alternate plug in they say to use for an external mic is a differerent type than what came with theTM-ST1...I gather that the external mic plug in take a 1/4" plug...the plug that came with the mic I just bought is like a stereo speaker plug...I am new to this so please be gentle...could someone tell me what I need to get to get this external mic plugged into the DP 004 ?...thanx...Marla

You'll need an adapter cable to connect TM-ST1 to DP-004.

Something like this:

3.5 mm jack      2 x 1/4" plug  
    TIP-----------TIP
         ---------SLEEVE
SLEEVE---|
         ---------SLEEVE
  RING------------TIP

(sorry about bad quality ASCII art schematics)

Anyone with basic electronics skills can make one for you.
