Hello. all. I recently got a 1884 as a "parts machine" cheap. Looks brand new. No damage to the Firewire ports/shields. I used to fix these things and have the parts to repair, but don't have anything- all I have is laptops w/o FW- to test the Firewire I/O. Any success with Firewire to USB options?

Something like this? At $3.99 its worth a try.
As sensitive as the FW is to the firewire chipset, I'm not "optimistic".
At that price, I'd try it!

Hey Tom. Already verified those $3,99 adapters don't work. At this point I might have to just put it up on Ebay
