I really enjoyed my FW-1082 but with the lack of firewire integration with my new Windows 10 laptop, I'm not able to use it. Just to give you a little history:
I owned this unit for about 10 years. About 7 years ago something happened that cause the audio parts to stop working and I can hear a faint high pitched noise coming from the unit. However, I could still use it as a control surface integrated with Sonar. I tried to connect this unit using the midi outs to my Focusrite Scarlett 18-i8 but I get a ton of random midi messages coming from the unit into Sonar to the point where it is not operable.
Has anyone had this issue?
Is there a way to send a Midi panic to stop the outgoing midi commands?
Is there a way to reset the FW-1082?
One more question... Is there a way for me to connect the FW-1082 using some sort of firewire to usb converter?
