FW-1082 : no audio signal received on an audio track (Cubase Le8)?

The playback (Cubase) works, but I don't get a signal to an audio track to record...

easy set up: Guitar to Line in (FW1082) - signal is good (level light), but no signal at the headphone or monitor outs (computer or monitor mode)....which is strange

FW LED is green and Cubase can be controlled (play,rec,ch select,faders etc)

I set the audio track to mono in/stereo out...

any idea?

Did you activate the monitor button in the track Inspector (on the left with the recording track selected)? It's the little orange speaker symbol - orange when selected on. If you did, then you have to check your audio connections - for that track but also for Cubase as a whole.
