I have been reading extensively on this forum over the last couple days and it has been very informative.
I have read the many warnings not to load the same version of the firmware that is currently in the 1884. For example, don't load 173_49 into a machine that currently has 174_49. This will likely induce death. Got it.
What I am not clear on is whether or not it is a good idea to actually update the firmware at all. My 1884 currently has 173_49. I see that 183_49 is available. Is it worth updating?
Are there noticeable improvements? Is 183_49 better or worse than 173_49?
Would anyone mind shedding light on this?
