Hi, it's great to have a dedicated Tascam forum back up.
I've been using a 2488 MK1 for about 5 years and also have a NEO. Both are fitted with the HGR2488 monitor adapter module http://www.hgr2488.co.uk and midi sync'd giving me 48 tracks. I would have killed for a setup like this 25 years ago, when my 4 track tape machine was state of the art !!
I'm also the proud owner of a TASCAM PS5. I think this is a really underated 5 track (5 tracks including the drum + bass machine, hence the name) and it's very portable. My 788 has never really been used in anger as the 2488 took over.
I've repaired and updated a number of 2488's, so hopefully I can share my experiences and knowledge .
