Hello! I got my start in forums back with computers in the early 2000s and then cars in about 2006. I love forums! I also like travelling, kind of off topic, but if you guys live in certain places and would like to collaborate, I'm down to help record something.

I've been recording audio and video for a long time. Recently, I decided to get good at it. One of the steps I took was buying a Tascam DR-40 because it freed me from using a laptop and USB interface, which I had been hauling all over the place for years. It was ridiculous, sure, but I liked it. I needed portable phantom power for my Rode NTG3.

My Tascam DR-40 recently died, and I have a post about it in another section. I'd like to figure out what's up and probably get a replacement or fix mine. As a loyal Tascam user, what keeps you using Tascam products over like Zoom or others? I've read that Zoom recorders have clunky menus, for example.

Thanks!
