I have the 1800 interface on a PC using Reaper.
I can't figure this out. Mics work great, bass with a direct box works great.
My two (very different) guitars give me high frequency distortion like the input is being overdriven.
I tried the guitar input on the front with the switch in both mic and line positions and I even tried a direct box on a mic input with the same effect. It gets a little better if I turn the input gain all the way down, but have to then move the headphone mix to almost all the way to just input (instead of computer) and crank the headphones all the way up (even with a headphone distribution amp) to hear it.
This makes no sense. The bass records great using the direct box on the same input.
Any ideas?
