Tascam Portastudio 2488
Hello everyone, I have been trying to connect and use my new Alesis Microverb 1 to my Tascam 2488 and have had no luck. Does anyone know how to pair an external effects processor?

Don't own any of the 2488 series, but would like to help if I can.

Which version of the 2488 do you have?

Have you searched this subforum for posts specific to the 2488 and external fx?

Have you checked the sticky threads for production tips and equipment tips that might be helpful even if not specific to the 2488?

What have you tried so far that hasn't worked?

It would also be helpful to point us to the relevant section of the owner manual in case we need to download and refer to it.

And welcome to the community. :)

Thanks for the response Mark. All I know is that it is a Tascam 2488, 24 bit, 36 Channel digital interface.

So far, to try and get the external effects to work, I have ran two TS cables from effect send inputs 1 and 2 (on Tascam) into the back of the Left and Right output on the Microverb. I then ran another two TS cables from the Left and Right input of the microverb into two vacant mic/line channels on the back of the Tascam.

From some videos on YouTube, I learnt that you need to combine the channels using the sub mix and stereo controls as well turn the external effect up in the send menu, which I have done. However I am getting reverb effects on any tracks. I will note that some of these videos were on a different model. But had similar specs to mine.

I also get a weird buzzing noise from the inputs that the Microverb is plugged into. So I believe there is a signal coming through.

I will also continue to search sub-forums for problems like mine, in hope of finding a solution. Thanks again for the response
