Model 12 + Reel to Reel

Hi community,

I've recently purchased a tascam model 12 (excited to dig in and this forum has been amazing so far) and have quite a few pieces of different audio gear. Ive acquired a reel to reel tape machine with RCA in/out. I would like to use the tape machine in post to send a final mix through the machine to tape and back through.

I've read the model 12 manual, searched high and low through the internet and I think I may be missing something/don't know how to hook the tape machine up properly. Im asking, can I hook the tape machine up to the model 12 and if so which cable do I use and where does it plug into the model 12?

I’ve used a cable with a pair of 1/4” TS to RCA cables to connect the Sub or Aux outs to my cassette deck. This works fine.

I am sure you could also use adapters on the XLR mains to convert them to TRS and then same cable as above.
