Model 16 SD main mix Return

When I listen to a mix on SD play, I’m thinking I have my mix. I’ve used the mastering eq and got it how I want it. Out of curiosity I push the SD main mix Return button and it sounds much louder, bass heavy, muddy. This is all through my headphones. When I go to storage mode and send the wav file to my computer, what is actually going there? The big muddy thing I hear with that button pushed or the cleaner mix I thought I had before? Thanks
