Model 24 compressor question

I finally bought the model 24. got it last Friday. So far, it seems pretty easy to get started with. For some reason the compressor doesn't seem to be lighting up when I turn it up. I read on previous forum compressor only works in live mode, but even in live mode not lighting up. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you might not have the gain knob turned up enough. The gain knob is what controls level during recording, not the fader.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
