Msr 16 sync to logic/dm 4800

Hi all.

I want to sync my msr 16 to logic via my dm 4800.
I have my old smpte midi tc machine. Would I just use the same process a I did before, that is print smpte on track 16 and hook up the midi to the dm and logic read that. Or do I need a midiizer or something like that.
