I have owned and used the Mx2424 during 2000-2004. I played in a band called ECHOBRAIN and this was a gift from Bob Rock & Jason. Anyways.. the unit has been in climate controlled storage sealed carefully for the last 14 years or so . Years later right out of the box the machine has been working great. I love it. But..... I am getting errors . I just tracked 15 songs with a band and out of nowhere 6 songs have vanished !!! 6 songs dude. I’m gutted .. I’m depressed and tascam is no help. Here is what I got ; -Mx2424 -Sun Micro ultra 68 to 80 pin scsi tower -4 foot scsi 68 pin cable -320 ultra 73 gig “refurbished” drives ranging from 1k to 15k rpm (I did a low level format only on them before I started ) -windows XP pc with viewnet - I have the remote but barely use because it makes a crazy computer noise that goes to tape. Cable ? I dunno ... Here are some of my errors ; “Parse error” “Mac open (exist) failure” “File missing mxtrk...” “Mac damaged”.. or something similar to that can’t remember . .... it won’t let me tape mode convert or import/export with parse error.... My questions -Am I using the right drives ? -am I formatting correctly ? - do I need to change the settings in the mx ? - is there a better ssd or back up solution ? -what am I doing wrong or could do better I really could use your help .. Any comment is so appreciated .
