Hey All,

Some of the LEDs on my MX units and in the remotes have failed and I am looking for a source to get replacements.

The first LEDs that have failed in the MX units are some of the LEDs below the transport buttons (Play, Stop, FF, etc.) which are "tower" LEDs, and have two wires for their "through hole" mounting.

The second LEDs that have failed in the remotes are some of the track status LEDs (Rec, Sel, Ovld, Input) which are square surface mount.

I have the Tascam part numbers from the schematics but they haven't come up on any web searches.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Kind regards,
Jeffrey Bruton

Hi Shredd,
Thanks for the quick reply and info.

The link to the Tascam site that is in the post you mention is no longer good.

As I mention in my first post, I'v e got the schematics and parts lists, but Internet searches of the part numbers reveal nothing.

Also, I have what I believe are all the docs and schematics, but no where in that collection is something titled a "Service Manual" or anything resembling the the countless service manuals I have read or few I have written.

If you are referring to a specific doc that gives more detail on the LEDs other than the basic description in the parts list or original Tascam part number, please let me know.

Kind regards,
Jeffrey Bruton

Hi Shredd,

Thanks again for the reply.

Finding equivalent replacement LEDs is exactly what I am trying to do, as once again, the Tascam part numbers do not come up in any Internet searches.

I believe I have found a source, and will post here with that information (once confirmed on Monday) so that others may benefit.

Kind regards,
Jeffrey Bruton

Good luck...it would seem likely that comparable LEDs could be found, as long as you can establish their specs and the configuration.
Which someone with your experience could probably manage. ME: I'd have a better chance of getting Alan Parsons to stop over at my house for nachos, and help me with my mixes.
