The TASCAM Model 12 Owner's manual refers to MAIN switches and SUB switches. Question - the MAIN switch will send channel signals to my MAIN speakers, and the SUB switch will send channel signals to my SUBWOOFER speakers? In other words, SUB refers to a SUBWOOFER?

No. Sub refers to Subgroup and it’s used to send certain inputs from your mixer to a separate output.
