Model 16
Hello,
I'm new to the forum and new to Tascam Model 16 ownership (so bear with me). My question has to do with recording my bands live rehearsals. Is there a way to simultaneously use the Model 16 as a live mixer (enabling us to hear our live rehearsals via the PA), AND as an audio interface where everything plugged into the Tascam (vocal mics, keyboards, acoustic guitars and electric guitars and a bass via direct outs) can be recorded to separate tracks into a DAW? I realize these recordings might not be pristine, and that they'll likely contain some bleeding of the live mix into vocal mics, etc. If there is a way to accomplish this, can someone provide me with a simple description of how to set this up? Thanks!

Welcome to the community. There are several ways to accomplish what you want to do.

The sticky thread "Tutorial and Informational Videos For Model 24/16/12" has tutorials videos for doing that.

I recommend the Sweetwater video (post #20) as the easiest for someone new to the world of audio engineering. It demonstrates the SOP that reflects TASCAM's intended use for the Model series.

Happy music making.:)
