Hi there,
Recently, when playing back recorded material on my Portastudio 414, the sound comes through as what I can best describe as "watery" and with a wobble to it. It's strange.
I've tested all outputs and monitors, but the sound remains affected in this way.
Could it be a motor issue? The frequency of the "wobble" is synced with the sound of the motor.
(The motor has also recently gotten louder when playing/recording).
I've also tried various types of tapes and yet the problem carries through.
I will say I haven't been too up on maintaining the machine, and now I fear it is striking back due to my misuse...
Please let me know what's up! Thanks.
