Rec Button Stop working :(

Hello everyone! I'm Tascam dr-40 happy owner. I've been using it for 5-6 years and everything worked fine till now.
I forgot about batteries for a few months in recorder and they have been leaked just a little.
After battery repair, I found that rec button doesn’t work at all.
All other buttons work fine but I can't press rec (I can but nothing happened ). Anybody had this issue? Or maybe someone has a clue what to do with this?

Any way to record audio without rec button? Maybe something like timer recording or so?
I miss my audio recorder
Also maybe anyone knows service in Toronto?

Try Teletech in, I think Brampton. Their not cheap, but they're great, reliable and trustworthy.(Tell em Mark from TO referred you.)

Yes Sir! I didn't realise your machine was a digital hand held (I have the Zoom H5) but, heck, give them a ring and see what they think. My concern is they are *Pro* audio and charge accordingly. These 3 hundred buck recorders might cost more than they're worth if they fail. But, a phone call is free, they might have a quick fix or good advice or maybe refer you to a specialist for digital field recorders. Worth a call anyway. Hope it works out for ya. Mark
